Addressing the ceremony, Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, 12th PCC member, Vice State President and President of the Fostering Council of the National Fund for Vietnamese Children (NFVC), stressed that each person can contribute to creating a safe and healthy environment for children by her/his love and responsibility.

According to Ms Thinh, activities for children should not only be carried out in the action month for children, but be regular activities everyday and everywhere, in order to bring the best to children.

She urged parents and teachers to raise high their sense of responsibility and work together to realize the law on children and other legal documents; prevent violence against children; and give healthcare and scholarships to children, especially poor children and those living in special circumstances. “We need more practical and stronger actions so that each child is cared for, protected and enjoys his/her rights,” she said.

The action month for children, which has been organized over the past 25 years, aims to encourage agencies, organizations, educational foundations, families and individuals to realize policies, programs, plans and projects for children.

After the launch ceremony, main activities will be carried out to support nearly 5,000 extremely disadvantaged children, using a capital of over VND14 billion; give presents to extremely disadvantaged children in Thanh Hoa and Phu Tho provinces’ SOS villages; and hold workshops on building a national network to protect children on a cyber environment.
