Charity Cycle Adventure raises over USD 114,000 for children

With 145 participants across three versions, Charity Cycle Adventure (CCA) 2020 has raised over USD 114,000 so far and become the most successful CCA ever of Saigon Children's Charity.

Through the off-road cycling challenge, cyclers from all over the world have contributed to building more schools, awarding more scholarships to help remove the educational barriers.

2020 has been a very difficult year. The COVID-19 pandemic as well as natural disasters has seriously affected the lives of poor households in remote areas, in which children and adolescents are the most vulnerable as they cannot continue education if their family's economic conditions do not allow. This is what motivates Saigon Children's Charity to organise the Charity Cycle Adventure (CCA) - a volunteer cycling program with the goal of raising funds to support Vietnamese underprivileged children.

Many enthusiastic cyclists from all over the world had joined to raise funds in support of saigonchildren, which help disadvantaged children and youngsters in Vietnam to get a fairer start in life, through access to the education they deserve.

With this success, the CCA team was already able to award 60 scholarships to students of the two schools that were heavily affected by the floods in Quang Binh province. Moreover, a kindergarten (Cu Dong site, Huc commune, Huong Hoa, Quang Tri province) is going to be renovated; and saigonchildren is looking at building a flood-resistant school for the Bru ethnicity village of Ban Doong in Quang Binh province.

In 2019 CCA wonderful riders raised over USD 44,000, and in total, over the span of 10 years, this event has raised over USD 445,000, providing substantial support for the critical work Saigon Children's Charity does in Vietnam.
