Ministry of Justice training on gender-sensitive mediation for provincial mediators

The event was held with the hope that the mediators will be the connectors to promote gender equality in grassroots mediation in order to leave no one behind.
37 mediators, including mediators from Hoa, Khme and Kinh groups, have completed the two-days training.
“The gender knowledge is crucial in grassroots mediation to obtain sustainable results. The training helps grassroots mediators gain a deeper understanding about gender and provides an effective tool to assess behaviors, especially disadvantaged groups, which contributes to the implementation of social justice”, shared at the training, Phan Thi Hue, grassroots mediator from Soc Trang province.
Earlier, to strengthen the capacity of grassroots mediators, a similar training of trainers on gender-sensitive grassroots mediation was held on November 26 - 27, in Khanh Hoa province. The training included various interactive methods in order to promote knowledge on gender equality for grassroots mediators.
Trainers from Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Da Nang, Gia Lai, Binh Dinh, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, Lam Dong, Kon Tum, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa provinces will be the connectors to convey knowledge and skills on gender for the grassroots mediators contributing to promoting gender equality in grassroots mediation activities and improving the capacity of grassroots mediators in Vietnam.
