Workshop on gender responsive budgeting took place in Da Nang

Towards the goal of turning Da Nang city into a safe city for women and girls, the Da Nang Women's Union and UN Women successfully held a workshop on gender responsive budgeting to promote a safe city for women and girls for representatives who are current leaders and managers of the city departments and the Department for the Advancement of Women of Da Nang city. Since then, the departments will have a better direction to invest in activities aimed at promoting gender equality and ending gender-based violence in the city.
The two-day training workshop welcoming about 60 representatives from the Department of Culture & Sports; Department of Information and Communication, Department of Transport, Department City Investment Plan, Department of Finance along with representatives of the Commision for Mass Mobilisation, the Municipal People's Committee, the Central Inspection Committee; Farmer's Union, General Confederation of Labour, Central Committee of Fatherland Front, Social Security Office, Sponsoring Association for Poor and Unfortunate Women and Children, HCMC Veterans Association; Representatives of the Commision for Mass Mobilisation of the districts, the Chamber of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of the districts and the Women's Union of Son Tra, Thanh Khe, Hai Chau districts.
This activity is a part of the 5-year cooperation between UN Women and Da Nang Women's Union for the period 2017-2021. Its aim is to support Da Nang city in the implementation of Directive 39-CT/TU dated 24/4/2020 of the Standing Committee of Da Nang City on building a safe city model - free of violence against women and children as well as related policies and laws on gender equality./.
